CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is the first step for new motorcyclists and moped riders. It was introduced in 1990 to help reduce the high accident rate among inexperienced motorcycle and moped riders. CBT is not a test and there is no exam – it is a course of training you are required to complete satisfactorily. There will be a mixture of theory, controlled riding in a secured area and supervised road riding with one of our qualified instructors. Upon successful completion your certificate will be valid for 2 years, at the end of this period you must complete another successful CBT if you wish to continue riding or until you meet all requirements to undertake your DAS. Please note to book your CBT you must hold a provisional driving licence.

DAS (Direct Access Scheme) permits riders aged 24 and over to undertake a two part test which when successfully completed will enable them to ride a larger CC motorcycle without restrictions. Prior to this you will first need to complete a CBT and a motorbike theory test at a registered DVSA center, once all requirements are met you will be given training for your MOD1 and MOD2 tests which will then be booked for you by one of our qualified instructors when you are competent.
